By covenant you are born great, by prophecy you are destined for greatness, by redemption you have the seed & potential loaded in you for greatness. It is an abuse of redemption to end one’s journey in the shadows. However, there are some things that could still hinder one from becoming great despite the foregoing & they include the following:

1. Sin: No matter the rung of greatness one is on, sin can ruin one’s greatness, Num. 32:23. Don’t hide your sins. Samson was destined for greatness but sin cut short his destiny. Sin makes a man to stink.
2. Aimlessness: A person’s capacity for greatness will be dropped if he’s living an aimless life, doesn’t have focus or goals being pursued or direction, Phil. 3:14. Attention brings distinction. Not every good thing is helpful for greatness. Learn to say ‘no’ to some good things. Be a man of one thing not of many things. Aimlessness blocks destiny.
3. Discouragement, Prov. 24:10: If you get easily discouraged, you block your capacity for greatness. Discouragement is the precious commodity in the arsenal of Satan. He knows that sin could be washed off by the blood of Jesus Christ; he knows that if you are broke you can believe GOD for supply but if you are discouraged, he knows he has got you, 1Sam. 30:6. The key to have business greatness is not to be discouraged. Several attacks will come to discourage you but they are the price to pay for business greatness. Some give up & their destinies become truncated. Even Elijah was discouraged. Some destinies are tied to you, if you give up on this matter, some people will be disappointed. We may never have heard of Elisha if Elijah gave up. Don’t give up on your finances, marriage, business, career, etc. It causes one to perambulate here & there & greatness will not be achieved neither will there be any impact.
4. Anger, Ecc. 7:9: No matter the level of anointing & greatness, anger cuts off greatness. It is a demonic anointing that removes the hand of GOD from the life of a person. It almost stopped Moses, in fact he was stopped! It’s not your nature but Satan’s so don’t resign yourself to it, 2Cor. 5:17. It doesn’t mean one can’t be angry, but sin not. One should be annoyed at sinfulness, folly but don’t let the sun set on it because if it does, it becomes demonic anger. It’s what leads to malice & other actions. It’s a precursor to vices.
5. Talkativeness: It’s a mark of mediocrity & immaturity, Ecc. 5:2, James 3:2. You can’t be great if your stomach is not deep. You should not spew out everything. Not all truth is to be said. There’s a truth said in a wrong time & place. Talkativeness could be written or verbal.
6. Wrong association: Wrong friends & companions can cut one’s greatness, 1Cor. 15:33.
7. Pride, Prov. 16:18: If one overvalues oneself, no one else can talk to one, one knows everything, this is tantamount to pride. Only GOD knows those who are proud because HE sees the heart, man only sees the outward person. Most anger come from pride. Humility doesn’t mean weakness. It helps one to be levelheaded.
8. Laziness: If one is too lazy to pray, fast, read Scripture, pursue what one desires, greatness is not in site, Prov. 26:13-16. No lazy Christian can be great. Don’t just expect miracles, work. Laziness stops one from preparing.
9. Unbelief, Heb. 3:12: If you lack faith in & doubt GOD, greatness is lacking.
10. Non-readiness to start small, Zech. 4:10: If you are not thankful to GOD & don’t value where you are now, you won’t move forward. If you are not ready to start small, you can’t become great. Start small, do something however small but be consistent. Big shots are small shots that keep on shooting.

We are all, one way or the other wary of thieves, and we'll do anything and everything possible to protect ourselves and our properties from them, either by erecting fences around the house and electrifying them, or by installing security cameras or even employing guards. But, we have never done anything against the Real Thieves!!!

The thieves are FEAR and DOUBTS.!!

Fear and Doubts are the thieves we are supposed to be wary of, they are the ones we should constantly be calling 911 for. Fear and Doubt are responsible for so many truncated potentials, they have destroyed lots of dreams, killed countless powerful ideas and many relationships have been murdered by them. They respect no one and are not selective in their operations.

What exactly are you Afraid of?

While it is believed that there are two ways to everything; good and bad, black and white, positive and negative etc, Fear is no exception, in actual fact, it is not as bad as it appears to be or has been portrayed to be.

Fear is a Force, a very powerful one! Fear can make one do extra-ordinary things (Positive); it could also be the reason for the most foolish of actions (Negative). Imagine what a hungry man, who haven’t eaten for three days, would do if he comes across a hungry Lion! You can do more than what you think you can do!

Now, there is a certain kind of Fear that we all must strive to rid ourselves of; it’s the Fear of Loss. Many a people have been denied their breakthrough because of the fear of losing temporary things. Job lost all He had, and never allowed it daunt His faith in God. What lots of people don’t understand is that; God will never allow things to be taken away from us without proper provision for it replacement!

But then, there is another kind of Fear that surpasses all types of Fear, this Fear guarantees all things. It is a very important factor needed, especially, in the most important RACE of all time, The Christian Race! For "the Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom..." Prov. 9:10

Now, let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: FEAR GOD and keep HIS commandments: For this, is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13

PROPHECIES AND VISIONS

Talking about Prophecies and visions, it's quite important we deliberate on it, to bring more light to a rather sensitive and conspicuous topic, especially for us as "Young Christians"

Prophecies and visions are like spiritual guides for the actualization of destinies. It draws information from the future through the spirit, thereby, making known to man what is to happen in the future. One thing about prophecy and/or vision is that; it is meant to be fulfilled and it’s going to be fulfilled, all that is needed is to live in obedience to God’s plan for our lives without being enervated. Prophecies and Visions are good and are important in our lives, they are there to give us hope for the future and something to hold on to when it seems like all hope is lost. But then, lots of destinies have been truncated through the assurance they have gotten, upon the revelation of their destinies.

Daddy Adeboye shared a story about two friends who decided to seek the help of an oracle to know what lay in the future for them. As for the first one, after due consultation, he was assured that he would be a future monarch who would rule over a kingdom. His friend, however, was told that he would die a servant. Upon returning from the oracle, the one who had been told he would become a king decided to remain passive and crossed his legs, waiting for the day of his coronation. The one who had been destined to be a servant encouraged himself by saying “at least I can be useful to myself.” He went deep into the bush, far out of the town and began to farm on a large piece of land. After several years, there was a heavy famine in the land. When the people discovered that there was someone somewhere in the wilderness who had a large farm to feed the entire community, they decided to make him their king as long as their feeding was guaranteed. The other man who was daydreaming and waiting for his coronation eventually became his servant.

Now, Let Us Think About the Following;

If Joseph had known that he would one day be a Governor in Egypt and had left his family to live in Egypt waiting for the day of his coronation, do you think he would have ended up being a Governor?

Do you think, David, having been anointed king of Israel had immediately exalted himself and announced himself king, would still be alive to be the king?

Our Lord Jesus had to wait for thirty years before He started his ministry, and all through those years, He was getting Himself acquainted with the necessary things that will aid Him in the accomplishment of His mission. He even had to endure forty days without food in the wilderness. All these were to enable Him to actualize His destiny.

We need to understand that there are some already prepared strategic events we need to go through, some spiritual lessons to be learned, and some physical challenges we need to face to be strong and fully prepared and able to discharge our God-given duties. These challenges are never going to kill us or incapacitate us in any way, but rather, according to the saying, “What doesn’t kill you, will only make you STRONGER”

All we need to do is an endeavour to live a Holy life and follow God’s plan for our lives...

A RISK WORTH TAKING

A friend once said “if you can’t inconvenience yourself, you can’t help others... and so it is..!!!

The first true risk was taken several years ago when for the salvation of the whole world, a man gave His life. Now that is TRUE LOVE.

True Love is a risk, it is a kind of deep affection you have for someone, so deep that you are aware that you might never be loved the same way in return, but then, against all odds, you took the risk. Now that is TRUE LOVE.

You claim to love, but have you ever denied yourself something so important just because of Love?

Jesus Christ died for us without even knowing us, He demonstrated His Love for this generation knowing that we might never Love Him in return. Now that is TRUE LOVE.

He did that for you and me, and all He wants in return is a relationship, a relationship to give us a glorious and everlasting Life.

TRUE LOVE IS A RISK, BUT IT’S A RISK WORTH TAKING... Allow Him in your heart and that is going to be a PERFECT LOVE.

I NEED A MAP.!

Can I borrow some money,

I need to buy me a map,

Of a place,

Far beyond your imagination,

I'll be gone,

But only for a while.

Tell my neighbours not to worry,

I'll be back before they know it,

Tell my mummy to be happy,

It's a journey for a better life,

Tell my daddy not to bother,

I won't try to be a hero,

Tell my siblings to stay strong,

I'll miss them more than they will,

Tell my friends not to wait for me,

We might not take the same route.

I need to buy me a map,

Of a place,

Far far away,

I'll be gone,

But only for a while.

Tell my neighbours to sleep well,

I won't be knocking on their door,

Tell my mummy not to stop praying,

Her prayers is what keeps me going,

Tell my daddy to be proud,

I'll come back a better man.

Tell my siblings I'm sorry,

I won't be there to tend to their wounds,

And Tell my friends not to forget,

We are not in a competition.

I'll be gone,

But Only to be a better person.
